  4. Thank you for your interest in 3D-CRIBBAGE.  The program is called 3D-
  5. CRIBBAGE because of its graphical display, and the working cribbage
  6. board, which actually moves the pegs for you!  This modern day
  7. adaptation of the 16th century English card game, will allow the user to
  8. select the skill level, speed of play, screen color, peg colors, and if
  9. user or computer will score hands.
  10.  
  11. The cribbage game begins by offering the deck to cut for deal.  The card
  12. edges will flash sequentially.  To select a card press any key, stopping
  13. the flashing card edges, and the card you selected will be displayed.
  14. The computer will then display its selection.  The low card deals.  In
  15. the event of a tie, the cards will be cut again.

  17. The cards are automatically shuffled and six cards are dealt to the
  18. player and the computer.  The players six cards are displayed.  The
  19. player must select two cards for the crib.  This is done using the
  20. cursor (arrow) keys to move the yellow indicator arrow above the cards.
  21. Hit [return] to discard the selected card.  The nondealer will then
  22. select a cut card, this is done in the same manner as the opening cut.

  24. The count is lead by the nondealer.  The cards are selected and played
  25. in the same manner as discarding to the crib.  The current count is
  26. displayed in the message window, at the screen center.  If you can't
  27. play, or the computer has said "go" then press the [G] key or space bar
  28. to say "go".

  30. The hand is concluded with displaying and totaling the points in the
  31. hands.  The program can be configured to automatically total all hands,
  32. or make the user total his or her own hand(s).  The cards are then
  33. automatically shuffled and a new hand is dealt.

  35. The Configure Game screen allows the player to adjust a variety of
  36. settings.  Setting such as: Speed of game, Computers skill level, Screen
  37. color, Peg colors, and Automatic hand totaling.  Use the [cursor up] and
  38. [cursor down] keys to select the configuration item.  Use the [cursor
  39. left] and [cursor right] keys to adjust the item's value.  After
  40. adjusting the desired parameters, you can exit using one of the commands
  41. listed at the bottom of the screen.

  45. HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  47. 3D-CRIBBAGE requires an IBM PC or compatible, with a VGA adapter and
  48. monitor.  You will also need a hard disk or a high density floppy drive
  49. to install 3D-CRIBBAGE on.  A 286 or higher is recommended.

  51. If you obtained 3D-CRIBBAGE from a shareware disk vendor, a BBS, a
  52. friend or colleague, or another similar source, you have an unregistered
  53. (evaluation) copy.  If you enjoy playing cribbage and find that you are
  54. using it for more than 30 days, you must make a registration payment of
  55. $25.  Upon receipt, I will send you a permanent copy, which can
  56. personalized with your name.  In addition, you will receive a
  57. certificate entitling you to 1/2 off the "JCSM Shareware
  58. Collection"(tm).
